In a very far off planet known as Arrakis there exists a spice that flows through the lands and is the ground that inhabits the planet. This spice has become extremely valuable and has caused a war since the beginning of time for its acquisition. There is a prophecy of one who will come, a "messiah" who will bring the world back from barren desert to an enriched new world. Paul Atreides set out on a journey with his family from Caladan to their new home, Arrakis, where Paul and others will meet people who will change the course of their lives forever.
